Return To Home Page About Us Welcome to The Wash Estuary Project
This site provides information on the work undertaken by The Wash Estuary Strategy Group.  The group was formed in 1993 and produced the first edition of the Wash Estuary Management Plan (WEMP) in June 1996. They have now reviewed this document via a wide ranging consultation process. The second edition is due for publication autumn 2004.

Our main aim is to promote the wise use of the area’s resources while trying to maintain the balance that allows the local communities to prosper and safeguards the wildlife and landscape features for future generations. WESG work to ensure that their main objective is taken into account at all levels throughout the area. Sustainable development and Integrated Coastal Zone Management are at the heart of what we are trying to achieve.

The Wash Estuary is situated on the east coast of England. For further information on The Wash and it's hinterlands and people look under the section entitled The Wash.
